I just discovered your blog today and something tells me I’ll be back. I was immediately drawn to the Harry Potter post… as yes, I am a fan too. So much that I read and write Harry Potter fanfiction too Yes, that is a whole other universe, much worth exploring. Let me get to the point though…

Yes, I agree that the HP books delve very well into the spiritual aspects of our universe… the good V/S bad, the difficult, yet higher choices, the value of the good deeds, the Karma factor (what goes around comes around) I think it was a wonderful tool to teach little children morals and philosophy, without getting too preachy. It was also a wonderful tool to remind us adults, about the little things in life that are so important, and magical. The book, in it’s fantasy, connects us to our truths. Perhaps, that is what made it such a success? It reminds us all to reach higher than we think ourselves capable.

Hi again,
Last time I was at Koyasan was a couple of years ago. Am usually free on weekends to meet up, I would assume Koyasan would be cooler in the summer than down in the city area. Though from what I remember the train and cable trip takes longer than 20 minutes. The train scenery was lovely, you are certainly living in a lovely area.

Wow... you're about 20 minutes from me... we'll have to get together some time! Ever make it up to Koyasan?

Intent is often overlooked, although I don't know why as it is not so difficult to teach. Many Reiki Practitioners subscribe to the 'just put your hands there and let your mind wander wherever it likes' theory... but that doesn't wash with me. It may work to some extent, but not as well as having clear intent.

Hello, again,
I am at Sayama, Kongo Station, on the Koyasan Line. I love lightening storms, the best was over the ocean at Surfers Paradise, Australia, my hometown a few years ago. Though I must admit last night’s would be now my best storm I have seen for a lllloonnnggg time. I had the perfect view from my lounge room, it was like it was just for me.

Speaking of intent, it never ceases to amaze me still each time how I see that work in my healings and life. I advise my friends who sometimes get caught up with things, “Don’t sweat it if you have intent, all will be good”. My teacher, Denise Crundle, also believed in the power of intent ( it would be nice to be perfect, do your best, but otherwise intent works just as well, as long as you are not sloppy) otherwise I wouldn’t have faith in the teacher let alone the modality, if there wasn’t a place for intent. Intent is the love/light/healing energy whatever one likes to call it, it can’t be wrong.

Hi Michelle!

I'm quite near Osaka, right where Wakayama, Osaka and Nara intersect at the foot of the spectacular Mt. Koya. 15+ years in Japan and I've never seen lightning like that... it just kept going, and going and going... kind of like the energizer bunny. Whereabouts in Osaka are you? I'm there quite frequently.

You're right about the mumbo jumbo... I forgot to mention the Reiki mantras. Also the concept of intent which a lot of Reiki Masters downplay... but I think its an essential component of any successful Reiki practice.

Funny you should mention Harry and his friend’s magic. Have thought that a few times with the wonders of reiki magic and affirmations magical outcomes etc. The power of the universe and the mind are wonderful things. We all have ‘magic’ running through us, some just need the courage to use it more often. Seems the movie world is again catching up with real life possibilities and allowing more of us to come out of the woodwork and not seem so strange. This ‘new-age’ mumbo jumbo can be quite frightening to some, all of a sudden their subconscience is recognising something their conscience doesn’t so what does the conscience self do?…… attack.;-) Harry Potter and The Ghost Whisperer etc are opening these doors of possiblity in a non-threatening way.
Seems you are getting the storm we just had over Osaka. The lighning is just magnificiant…..enjoy.
